Trade barriers affect the development of Asian textile industry

by:JIYALI     2021-08-15
Recently, the Asian Development Bank evaluated the competitiveness of the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and the Chinese textile industry. According to the report, China is a strong competitor in the world market, and other Asian suppliers are looking for new market space in order to avoid direct competition with China. The report shows that Asian countries no longer face trade barriers within the region, but some countries with strong textile production capacity are restricted due to tariff and non-tariff barriers. Customs management ranks first, and the other more common non-tariff measures include: technical barriers related to standards and testing, tax treatment, investment restrictions, and so on.
