Philippine leather industry output increased by 50%

According to statistics from the Philippine National Bureau of Statistics, due to the sluggish foreign market and domestic demand, in March this year, the manufacturing output of the Philippines fell by 5.9% compared with the same period last year. In the first quarter of this year, the manufacturing output of the Philippines only increased by 0.5%. Compared with last year, the largest decline in output was textile 18.2%, non-electric machinery 44.2%, furniture 29%, tobacco products 21.2%, food 12.6%; output growth was leather 49.9%, footwear and clothing 44.8%, beverages 2.8%, wood and wood products 8.2%.
