After voting on February 18, Pakistan’s textile sector began to receive orders from foreign buyers. The vote restored political stability and accelerated the country’s economic vitality. It is reported that from November 2007 to January 2008, Pakistan’s export orders fell by 25% year-on-year. This was because the country’s law and order situation deteriorated and political instability forced foreign buyers not to place their orders. Pakistan’s business leaders said: Because of their doubts about Pakistan’s timely delivery, foreign consumers are hesitant to place orders. The continuous loan burden has severely hit the textile industry's production. Business leaders said: After the establishment of the new government, we are optimistic that the power crisis will also be brought under control. Textile industrialists and textile industry ministers held a meeting. The Textile Commissioner and Secretary General of the Trade Development Bureau also participated in this meeting. At this meeting, textile industrialists asked the government to expand the clothing sector within at least five years, because this is vital to the survival of the value-added export industry of clothing. They emphasized that the financial impact of these actions will increase national revenue by 182 million rupees each year. Industrialists say they should import natural gas generators with zero tariffs.
