Pakistan’s textile exports need special attention

Pakistan’s new government will rely on textile exports to reduce the budding trade deficit, at least in the short term, Pakistan’s high-level trade organization said in a report. The previous trade strategy focused on import substitution as a way to control the deficit, but this method proved to be ineffective under the free trade system. The Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) stated in the trade promotion proposal that this proposal is included in this proposal. Submitted to the Ministry of Commerce at the beginning of the week. Pakistan’s textile products include cotton cloth, cotton yarn, knitwear, sheets and ready-to-wear garments, which accounted for 70% of Pakistan’s total exports in the 2006-07 fiscal year. The manager of Ecko Textile Company said that the government must take support measures to increase the competitiveness of value-added textiles in the international market until the government decides whether to consider the textile sector as the backbone of the economy.
