Opening of the 10th Panama People’s Republic of China Trade Fair
On December 6, 2007, the 10th Panama Trade Fair of the People’s Republic of China opened in Panama’s ATLAPA International Convention and Exhibition Center. Lv Congmin, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, Zhang Wei, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Bao Esheng, representative of the Panama Trade Development Office of China, Jose Clark, representative of the Panamanian Ministry of Industry and Commerce Carmen Vergara, Panamanian Agribusiness More than 200 people, including the Acting President of the Chamber of Commerce Fernando Arango and other guests, as well as multinational envoys in Panama, members of the Panamanian delegation of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade, representatives of Chinese-funded companies in Pakistan, and overseas Chinese attended the event. Vice Chairman Zhang Wei reviewed the rapid development of China's trade volume with Latin American countries since the reform and opening up, and China's large-scale investment projects in Latin America, saying that China-Latin America's economy and trade are complementary and have huge development potential. Acting President Arango and Representative Bao Esheng also delivered speeches respectively. After the opening ceremony, the guests visited the exhibition with great interest. The exhibition will last four days, with a total area of u200bu200b3,200 square meters. Nearly 100 companies from 13 provinces and municipalities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Shandong will participate in the exhibition. The exhibition will exhibit products such as automobiles, motorcycles and spare parts, household appliances, building materials, machinery and equipment, handicrafts, accessories, luggage, textiles and clothing. Since 1975, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade has held large-scale trade fairs in Panama nine times, and has been welcomed and praised by Panamanian visitors and Chinese exhibitors.
