India’s Federal Textile Minister Shankersinh Vaghela said that the central government will consider approving projects in the Kannur district of Kerala, such as the comprehensive textile park project, if suitable land can be provided. This is what Vaghela said at the Kannur Prospects 2020 Development Seminar, which was organized by the District Congress Party Committee on Sunday. Kannur District, located 30 kilometers north of Kochi City, is a major handloom center in Kerala. Vaghela asked the authorities to provide approximately 100 acres of land for the project. He said that if the local textile industry organizes a special-purpose media to cooperate with the Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Co., Ltd. and the textile park consultant of the Ministry of Textiles, he will give priority to this proposal. Vaghela attended the opening ceremony of the Ninth National Institute of Fashion Technology in Kannur on Saturday, which is expected to expand the potential of the local textile industry.
